Dr. Kara handpicked our doctors for their clinical knowledge, kindness, and genuine commitment to their patients.
We believe independent practices have an important role in protecting that kind of care, keeping decisions centered on the people we serve.
We know you have a choice, and we’re grateful you trust EyeCare for You with your care and recommend us to your family and friends. We look forward to getting to know you!

Founder, Optometrist & Big-Picture Thinker
Dr. Kara is curious about more than your prescription. She loves connecting the dots between eye health, nutrition, everyday habits, and how you feel overall. She founded EyeCare for You to build the kind of practice she would want for her own family.
Her passion for service extends beyond the exam room. As President of VOSH NC, she helps bring eye care to underserved communities close to home and abroad. She also serves on the Holly Springs Town Council.
Outside work, you’ll find her traveling with her family, listening to a self-development audiobook, or training for another race. She runs slowly, but her ideas tend to arrive at a sprint.
Excellent conversation starters: Travel, musicals, Thai food, and Leslie Knope.

Optometrist, Dry Eye Detective & Calming Presence
Gritty, burning eyes? A child who’s nervous about their first exam? Dr. Lauren enjoys helping patients work through both. A 2008 graduate of Southern College of Optometry, her clinical interests include dry eye treatment, children’s vision, and myopia management to help slow the progression of nearsightedness.
She offers dry eye treatments including ZEST and IPL, and enjoys figuring out what’s behind symptoms that patients may have assumed they simply had to live with.
Dr. Lauren lives in Raleigh with her husband, three children, and two dogs. Away from the office, she enjoys hiking, baking, and getting lost in a good book, whenever the household allows it.
Excellent conversation starters: Hiking trails, book recommendations, Indian food, and dark chocolate.

Optometrist, Apex Native & Antique-Shop Explorer
For Dr. Paquin, caring for this community is a homecoming. She grew up in Apex, studied biology at Ithaca College, and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at Rosenberg School of Optometry.
She enjoys caring for patients of all ages, with particular interests in contact lenses, dry eye, and helping children protect their vision as they grow. Myopia management and lifelong eye health are especially close to her heart.
Outside the exam room, Dr. Paquin enjoys browsing antique shops and baking. Between finding a hidden treasure and making something from scratch, she appreciates things that take a little time and attention.
Excellent conversation starters: Favorite local spots, antique finds, and whatever’s baking next.
